How To Approach Girls

approach girls
Here’s a classic scenario that’s been happening all over the world since the beginning of time (well, not really). You notice a beautiful girl and she becomes aware of your glances. In the span of a few seconds you decide to do nothing and then just go about your business. This is a very common daily experience that a lot of guys won’t admit to.
Sometimes a brave soul will just go for it and approach her anyway. When he reaches her with a blanked out mind and a racing pulse, he does or says something causing an awkward moment for both him and the girl. Later that day he tries his best to suppress all memories of his humiliation.

There are a million and two variations to this but they all amount to missed opportunities. Guys with this problem all recognize that they’re having difficulties with approaching women. What they fail to do is resolve to fix their problem in a deliberate and methodical way.
This means gaining experience gradually by taking small baby steps. What I mean is that you need to get proficient at spontaneous socializing with strangers. You should make a goal of talking to as many strangers as you can during the course of your day. Your interactions won’t necessarily be full blown discussions. If you tried to force lengthy conversation on people they’ll probably get annoyed and back away.
Your interactions have to come across as a natural reaction on your part to something about the person or the situation. When you’re taking these baby steps, the goal is not picking up every female you come across. You’re just trying to initiate some talk which will naturally run its course, then you’ll move on.
I personally prefer to use humor whenever I can to loosen things up. There’s no quicker way to set a girl at ease than to make her laugh. I’ve found at least for me, that it’s far easier to make a girl laugh than a guy.
That’s because the girl is simultaneously hearing something funny and experiencing the thrill of attention from the opposite sex. It’s sort of a quick one-two punch that many women will automatically react to with laughter.
The humor doesn’t have to be all that funny. It only needs to be spontaneous and appropriate to the situation. The other day I got three women at a Star Bucks to laugh at this phrase: “eeny, meenie, minie, moe”. There’s nothing gut wrenching about the phrase itself. But it seemed the natural thing to say when three female employees were ready to take my order and it wasn’t clear who I should give my order to. An hour later at a different location, I caused a girl to burst into laughter when I said the word “five”. You had to be there to understand.
The formula for this type of humor is spontaneity, appropriateness, and being playful. There’s many formulas for humor, but that’s the one that works for me. You’ll want to avoid humor that make you seem like a clown, because you want to come across as an interesting and exciting male.
The easiest way to begin your baby steps is to start with women (you’ve not met before) that you’re expected to interact with anyway. So you’ll be targeting every bank teller, cashier, waitress, grocery bagger, librarian, and so on. You will want to get them to talk about something that’s not required by their job. So asking a waitress what the day’s special is doesn’t count as a social interaction. And remember that humor is a great ice breaker.
When this becomes second nature, then it’s time do your little interactions with women that you’re not expected to interact with. As you do this, start asking open ended questions that aren’t prying, to get her to open up more. With consistent repetition of this every day, you’ll reach the point where approaching and getting to know a woman that you take a fancy to won’t be that big of a deal. If she rejects you, it’s not because of awkwardness on your part. It’ll be because of circumstances that have to do with her. And besides, if you get rejected, so what? Who cares?

Baby Steps to Impress a Girl

have you ever wanted to know how to impress a girl? Of course you have. All men have at some point. Too many men have let the perfect lady get away because they are too shy and didn’t know how to approach her in such a way that made her want to be with them. They don’t know where and how should they start. But don’t worry. Take some baby steps first.
This is going to be easy. Follow these five steps, and you will impress any girl of your choice.
1. Talk to her.
It may seem obvious that you need to form your mouth to make words while in close enough proximity to a young lady so that she’s able to hear you, but, it’s not. Sometimes men are too afraid to say hello to a girl, so it is even more difficult to impress a girl. They keep their interest a secret and let her move on down the road until a man who is brave enough to speak appears.
If you’re interested, you have to tell her. Start with a smile, a handshake and one word: ‘Hi.’
2. Use good manners.
Girls are impressed with young men who open doors for them, and use phrases like ‘please,’ ‘thank you’ and ‘I’m sorry’ when appropriate. Common courtesy goes a long way with females so use it to your advantage to impress a girl. If you can’t remember what’s right to do or say just think to yourself: ‘What would I do if this were my mother?’
how to impress a girl3. Befriend her friends.
Girls put a lot of weight in the opinions of their friends. If you want to impress a special lady, you’re going to want to become friends with her closest friends. You can do this by following steps 1 and 2 above exhibiting only platonic intentions. If one or more of her friends gives you the thumbs up, you’re golden. If those same friends find fault in you, there’s a good chance that even if you do impress her initially, they’ll work to change her mind and often succeed.
4. Honesty is the best policy.
Truthfulness impresses girls. Being honest when you’re trying to get to know a woman will only benefit you. They’ll experience who you really are, and in turn will be honest and upfront with you. There are a lot of games to be played in the world, so most girls don’t want their relationships to be treated as play times.
5. Write letters or notes to her.
This is the Holy Grail. Writing notes, or better yet letters, impresses girls beyond anything else you could possibly do for her. Send her a note that reads: ‘You’re nice, sweet or pretty,’ and then stand by to watch her read it. The look on her face will tell you just how big of an impression you’ve made on her.
Writing is very personal and inspires emotion from the writer and the reader. So, if you write something to a young lady, you should be sure you have strong feelings for her because she’s going to fall head over heels in love.
There it is – the baby steps you’ve been waiting for. These five steps are all you need to impress a girl today, so get out there and make something happen.

How to Know if a Girl Likes You

Every boy falling for a girl would want his question answered, how to know if a girl likes you.  This is because most guys find opposite sex mysterious, especially beautiful girls.  It is very important that you know her interest level if you want to impress a girl, take the relationship a step forward or rather end the relationship because it is just a waste of time. True enough that if you determine that the girl is interested in you then surely you will be asking her for more dates.
If you are not sure the meaning of those smiles, glances and looks. Then here are some helpful tips that you can follow to determine how to know if a girl likes you.
Start a conversation.
This can help you learn things about her that may come handy in the future. Do not let the girl slip away if you really like her. Learn the tips on how to know if a girl likes you and try to understand how to impress that girl.  You should be aware of any signs because all girls are different.  You must listen to her tone because if she is shy her voice could be soft and she could start to play with her hair.  If she still laughs at your most boring jokes then it is indeed a sign that she might like you.
Moreover, if a girl is interested in you, she should be excited when you start a conversation.  The smile can disappear as quickly as possible if she is shy but it could be very hard to hide a strong emotion. Therefore, how to know if a girl likes you is not so difficult after all.
Look out for Flirting signs.
It may be difficult for you to read if she is flirting.  Girls may flirt with guys whom they consider as friends yet can be exaggerated as a crush. Most girls do not have the slightest idea that they are already flirting knowing that they do not want to be obvious.  So, if you see this sign, make sure not to flirt around with other girls anymore because if she ever sees you, she may take it, as she does not mean anything to you at all.
Does she often “unintentionally” bump into you?
If she happens to bump into you more often be it accidental or unintentional, it could be a sign that she likes you.  She could be trying to touch you. She could just be looking for excuses but the thing is she really wanted to feel you. With this, you do what you must have to do.  You can tell her that it is okay and it is fine.
Read the way she looks at you.
If a girl likes you, either she will look at you for a long time or she could pull herself right away. If she pulls away, you do not have to worry because she might just be nervous and still like you.
Take a look at her friends.
If her friends giggles while watching you, then that could mean something.  Be observant as to how she will react because if she will also giggle then she likes you but if she will say “stop teasing”, then that could mean the opposite.

First dates advice

First dates can be a stressful time for most people. This is especially true for the guy who’s been out of the dating scene for a while.

This stress comes from the common fears about not knowing what to say or do with someone you know very little about. Fears about things going badly and rejection also play a big part.

Knowing what to do is the best way to cope with this stress. Here are a some first date pointers.

1.) It’s probably not the best idea to take her to a movie. Why is that? Because you can’t do any talking which makes it impossible to find out what sort of person she is.

It’s also done too much. Doing the usual standard stuff isn’t the recipe for a fun date.

You could try an activity based date such as hiking, skiing, wine tasting, amusement park, driving range, or a softball game. Knowing something of your date’s interests helps a lot with your choice of place or activity.

After you’ve finished your activity, eating out at a nice place is a good idea. Avoid going to a super expensive or fancy place as this makes it seem as if you’re trying very hard to impress her or buy her.

The Top 10 Things to Do to Lose Weight

The Top 10 Things to Do to Lose Weight

Are you lost in the sea of weight loss advice? You can lose weight immediately without having to know the differences between diets such as South Beach, Sonoma, Atkins, Dukan, Best Bet, Blood Type, the Healthy Six diet, and dozens of others. Do these eleven simple things to lose weight daily.

1. Join the Small Plate Movement

Serve your food from smaller plates and bowls. A three ounce serving on a 12-inch plate looks small, but the same serving on a 10-inch plate looks larger. An April 2005 study titled “Super Bowls: Serving Bowl Size and Food Consumption,” published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that when people eat from larger plates, they consume more food. In the study, the people who were given large bowls took 53% more food than the people who had smaller bowls.

2. Sleep at least 7 hours a day

The obesity rate in 1960′s America was about 12%, a time when people slept an average of 8.5 hours a night. Today, in 2011, obesity is around 30% and people sleep from 6.5 to 7 hours. This is not coincidence. When you sleep six hours or less before starting your day, your tired body craves sugary or high carbohydrate foods to replace the energy it lacks.
Doctors from the University of Chicago studied two hormone levels, ghrelin and leptin, in 12 healthy males while monitoring the men’s appetites and activity levels. When the men received less sleep their leptin levels decreased and ghrelin levels increased. Their appetites were significantly larger, resulting in a 45% increased demand for carbs and other high-calorie foods. Give your body enough rest to help avoid cravings for such foods.

3. Walk, Jog, Bike or Run

Whichever exercise(s) you choose, exercise smart instead of hard. Walking reduces “bad cholesterol”, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) while increasing “good cholesterol”, high-density lipoprotein (HDL). It lowers blood pressure and can even improve your mood. Jogging, running and bicycling are high-impact exercises. There is no need to push yourself like a tri-athlete to see the benefits. Start with a few minutes of stretching and then do your chosen exercise at least 3 days a week. Increase the length of your workout over time, as well as the number of days per week you exercise.

4. Eat chicken without the skin

The skin has the most calories on a piece of chicken. Did you know 30% of chicken skin is fat? A single, small piece of chicken (1/8″ x 1.5″ x 2″) contains 13 calories, half a gram of fat and 2 grams of protein. Remember that the number of calories in chicken depends on how it is cooked. Chicken that is cooked in its own liquid has more calories than chicken that is cooked in a way allowing for the liquid to drain off.

5. Eat your favorites instead of abandoning them

Rewards are an important aspect of dieting. Simply telling yourself, “No more sweets!” isn’t going to help you lose weight. For example, if you are leaving three favorite junk foods or candies out of your diet plan, set aside a day when you reward your efforts by eating one of those three foods absent from your diet. A sensible serving will not harm your progress.

6. Avoid coffee creamers

Single servings of liquid creamers, like Half & Half, contain 20 calories each. Table cream contains even more, with about 29 calories. The powdered varieties contain fewer calories; regular powdered creamers have 16 and “light” substitutes have 13 calories. Nearly all creamers contain 1-2 grams of fat, with the exception of light powdered creamers, which have about a half a gram of fat.

7. Eat spicy foods

According to Penn State’s Associate Professor of Biobehavioral Health, Sheila West, PhD, the spices cinnamon, turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, oregano and rosemary benefit the metabolism. Her team studied six overweight but healthy males, ages 30 to 65. After one week of normal food, then a second week of spicier alternatives, the men’s insulin and triglyceride levels lowered by 21% and 31% respectively. Although the sample size of participants was small, the results are prompting other researchers to pursue larger studies.

8. Reduce your stress level

Hormones, like adrenalin and CRH, release when you’re too stressed, decreasing your appetite for a short time. This is known as the “fight or flight” response, but when the stressors are events that you can neither fight nor flee from, you eat more. Shawn Talbott, PhD, author of “The Cortisol Connection” points out that since we aren’t physically fighting our way out of danger, we’re not releasing the calories we would otherwise. Most stressors in 21st century first world nations, he says, leaves us “to sit and stew in our frustration and anger…” Identify the source(s) of stress and either eliminate or reduce them.
Stop watching 24/7 news coverage of worldwide atrocities. Don’t let disagreements turn into arguments. Take a walk, swim, jog, listen to music, play a game… do anything – except overeating, obviously – to reduce your stress level.

9. Choose actual fruits over fruit juices

Unlike chicken skin, which contains 30% of the fat that poultry has, edible fruit skins contain most of the nutrients of the fruit. Among these are:
blueberries
raspberries
strawberries
prunes
plums
grapes
raisins
pears
apricots
figs
apples
Most juicing processes actually remove these skins, reducing the nutrients significantly. Like the skin, pulp is also a good source of fiber, which is critical for a good diet. Advertisements, especially for orange juice, claim that pulp is added to the juice. While that is true in some cases, the pulp has to be “added” because it was removed in the juicing process to begin with. Whole fruits always contain more nutrients than their processed derivatives.

10. Use salads as appetizers

A salad is not just a healthy choice, it reduces your appetite for the more calorie-dense meal that follows. Eat any kind of salad before a calorie-rich meal so you will consume smaller portions of the main dish. This will help increase your stock of leftovers, which you can eat later, or give to a family member, friend, or a diet buddy.
Dieting does not have to be a nightmare of consuming bland foods, swearing off treats forever, and becoming irritable over major sacrifices. Eat good foods on smaller plates, lower your fat intake, burn some calories, sleep well, and reward yourself with your favorite treats. Dieting can be a fun experience enjoyed either on your own, or shared with friends.

How do I permanently delete my account?

If you deactivate your account from your Security Settings page, your profile (timeline) and all information associated with it disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook will not be able to search for you or view any of your information.

In case you want to come back to Facebook at some point, we save your profile (timeline) information (friends, photos, interests, etc.) so that your account will look just the way it did when you left. A lot of people deactivate their accounts for temporary reasons and expect their profiles (timelines) to be there when they return to the service.

If you do not think you will use Facebook again and would like your account deleted, keep in mind that you will not be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you have added. If you would like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log in to your account and then submit your request here.

If you are currently unable to access your account, you will need to reset your password in order to log in. In order to do so, click the "Forgot your password?" link that appears above the field where you would normally enter your password. Once you’ve followed the instructions to reset your password and can log in, you can deactivate or delete your account using the steps outlined above.

Improve SATA hard disk performance (Convert from IDE to AHCI)

Every hard drive in a modern computer is connected to the system through a storage controller. This controller typically can communicate with the hard drive via a number of different interface protocols. For maximum compatibility many computers are configured in the BIOS to use the older IDE interface protocol to communicate with modern SATA hard drives. This setting is acceptable for the average computer user but IDE lacks support for new technologies such as native command queuing (NCQ) and hot-plugging hard drives (add or remove drives without restarting the computers).
Intel invented a new storage controller interface known as AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) that supports these new technologies with modern SATA hard drives. If you have a hard drive that supports NCQ, it is worth a try to see if your disk performance improves with your workload.
The main problem preventing users from changing the storage interface protocol from IDE to AHCI in the past has been blue screens that could only be cured by undoing the BIOS change or reinstalling Windows. The cause of the problem is the mass storage driver installed when Windows was first setup. Since IDE was enabled at install only the IDE storage driver was configured in Windows. With the AHCI driver missing, Windows cannot read from the hard drive and throws a BSOD with error code 0x0000005B.
Now there is an easy solution that will allow you to switch between IDE and AHCI in the bios and Windows will boot without any problems. The key is to enable the AHCI driver in Windows before you make the setting change in the BIOS.
For most users this will work:
  1. Open Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci.
  2. Right click on the Start registry DWORD and select Modify.
  3. Set the value to 0 and click OK.
  4. Now the Start setting should be set to 0.
  5. Reboot and enable the AHCI setting in your BIOS.
If you are using a RAID adapter or other interface try the following:
  1. Open up Registry Editor and naviage to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\iaStorV ORHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\iaStor.
  2. Repeat the steps above.
Not all users will see a major performance improvement with AHCI and a SATA hard drive but NCQ can be very helpful under the right workload. Post your experience and setup in the comments below.

Optimize Solid State Drives in Windows 7

Windows 7 is designed to automatically turn off certain features such as Disk Defrag and Superfetch on drives it detects as solid state disks (SSD). To be sure I like to disable the components globally so I know I will not be putting extra stress on my SSD and decreasing its life. Many believe you should also disable the paging file but I don’t recommend that. I’ll get into more detail on why later.
Before we get started it is important to understand that if you have a mixture of SSD and traditional drives in your computer this tweak will disable Superfetch and Disk defragmenter for all hard drives.
Both Disk Defragmenter and Superfetch are system services that can be disabled to prevent them from running. Follow these steps to disable them on your computer:
  1. Click on the Start Button, type in services.msc and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll through the list and locate Disk Defragmenter, right click on it and select Properties.

  3. Change the Startup type to Disabled.

  4. Click Stop if the service is running.

  5. Then, click OK to save the changes.
  6. Next, scroll down to the Superfetch service, right click on it and select Properties.
  7. Change the Startup type to Disabled.

  8. Click Stop if the service is running.

  9. Then, click OK to save the changes.

How to unlike a Page on Facebook

How to unlike a Page on Facebook

For a site that's so incredibly popular, Facebook sure knows how to aggravate its users. The latest inexplicable change: You no longer "Become a Fan" of, say, Flight of the Conchords or Brendan Benson. Now, you "Like" them. (Find out more in Sarah Jacobsson's recent post,

Facebook Decides You'd Rather 'Like' Than 'Be a Fan.')

Even worse, some mumbo-jumbo pop-up I clicked past a couple days ago resulted in all my fan pages getting added to my News Feed--in a way they weren't previously. Now it's even more cluttered than before, with weird and unwanted updates from the likes of Seinfeld and The Simpsons.

If you're anything like me, you've probably been searching high and low for a way to remove some of these News Feed offenders. You have two options: Hide and "Unlike." (Oh, Facebook. Really? Unlike?)
The Hide button appears on the right when you mouse over any item in your News Feed. Click it, and then click the Hide [Fan page] confirmation button that appears. Presto: No more updates from that fan page.
Alternately, you may decide you don't want certain fan pages appearing in your profile any longer (which they still will if you merely hide them). But how do you cease and desist your fandom? Where's the aforementioned Unlike option?

It's hiding in plain sight. Click through to any given fan page, then scroll down to the very bottom of the lefthand column. You'll see a tiny, nondescript Unlike link. Click it and you're free.

How to Change Windows Logon Screen in Windows 7

This method will require you to modify the registry, and if that puts a knot in your stomach, you should move on to the next section.
Step 1: Open the Windows Start menu and enter regedit into the search bar.
Step 2: Right click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and select Find
Step 3: Search for OEMBackground, which should be in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background. If the key does not exist, add a new DWORD value with the nameOEMBackground
Step 4: Double click on the entry OEMBackground, and change the value from 0 to 1.

Step 5: Open Windows Explorer and go to the following path:%windir%\system32\oobe
Step 6: Create a new folder named info, and open it.
Step 7: Create a new folder within info named backgrounds
Step 8: Rename your desired wallpaper as backgroundDefault.jpg and place it inside the folder backgrounds (images must be less than 245KB in size).

That should do the trick, now just lock your PC, log off or reboot and enjoy.

Third-party software
If you are uncomfortable with manually tinkering with the registry -- or simply have better things to be doing with your time -- we understand. Various third-party applications can change Windows 7's default logon wallpaper, but our personal favorite is Tweak.com's Logon Changer.
The software is ridiculously easy to use, doesn't require installation, and it even has built-in tools to automatically resize and recompress your images while leaving the original file untouched. The Logon Changer also lets you quickly change your logon wallpaper back to the Windows 7 default.

Start by downloading the app here, and then unzip the executable. Run the program and it should present you with a preview of your logon screen along with a few self-explanatory options: "Change Logon Screen" lets you browse to a new image, "Test" will bring up your logon screen, "Revert to Default Logon Screen" reapplies Windows 7's original wallpaper.

How to Refresh or Repair Icons in Windows

We all have a bad habit of trying out all other freeware application available for our need. We usually install a number of applications and complain our system has gone slow. To make it fast, we uninstall all those apps which are not used frequently. Due to all this activity carried, sometimes the default icons for our files get corrupted and they start showing some icon which we don’t want to see.
If you are

  • a Windows Vista user and stuck with such problem, here is the solution for you. This is quite a simple solution and you don’t need to try any other software / registry hack or any complex control panel settings. Just delete a file and restart. Here we go -
  • First, you need to show all hidden files and folders.
  • Navigate to C:\Users\%User Name%\AppData\Local\
  • Here you find a hidden file IconCache.db – Delete the file. Don’t worry about that as it won’t cause any problems with your Windows
  • installation. Delete it with Shift+Delete (permanent delete skipping Recycle Bin).
Rebuild Vista icon cache by IconCache.db
  • Now you will need to restart
    • the computer in order for changes to take effect.
    • After the restart, check for the above location to see if a new IconCache.db has been created, in most cases it will and the new file will have a smaller size than the previous one. You can also check the date created in properties in order to confirm that to be a new file.
Note: If it does not resolve the problem, you might need to perform all steps 2-3 times (restart is must).
